Romania has one finalist within the international contest InAVation Awards 2010. The project describes the biggest dispatch from Romania and East Europe and was implemented by AVITECH.
123 projects were registered in the competition, grouped in 9 categories. The AVITECH project is part of the Command & Control category. From all the registered projects, only 36 were chosen for the final stage, 4 for each category.
The winners will be designated by a professional jury and will be announced on February 3rd, 2010, within the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE). At the event are expected more than 1000 specialists in AV. ''The night promises to be a great networking opportunity and a chance to unwind after a busy day on the show floor.'' said Dan Jago, publisher of InAVate.
Chris Fitszimmons, editor of InAVate and a member of the judging panel, congratulated the finalists and said: ''The standard of entry was very high this year making it incredibly hard to select the finalists. The judges will have an even tougher job trying to crown just one winner in each category.''
This is the fourth edition of The InAVation Awards and is organized by the prestigious InAVate magazine EMEA's leading online resource for Pro AV technology and integration. To see the finalist projects, go on

The third edition of The Smart Kids International Symposium took place during 11-13 December 2009 in Timisoara, at ''C.D. Loga'' National College, and had ''eGreen'' as current theme. The event was organised by Timis County Inspectorate and ''C.D. Loga'' National College. AVITECH was again one of its most enthusiastic supporters.
On 11th of December there was a communication session ''Education and the New IT Technologies in the Euro-Region'' and the following day there was a competition of interactive board applications for 1st to 12th-grade students and teachers. The final day was dedicated to prize award the competition's finalists.
The goal for this year's edition was to emphasise the role and responsibility of teachers in their teaching process in which traditional teaching methods and modern technologies combine. The presentation systems from Smart Technologies, distributed in Romania by AVITECH, stand out among these modern methods. Participants involvement in learning about methods to improve their teaching sessions makes the implementation of such possibilities become successful in the following years.
SMART Board, the star product of the symposium, is the number 1 interactive whiteboard worldwide and in Romania. Due to its sensitive surface, any application from a connected computer can be activated and completely controlled through a simple touch of the whiteboard. The image is reproduced on the whiteboard via a projector. Also, one can write or draw on the sensitive surface by using the special pen set. The result can be saved, printed or sent via e-mail. The software that comes with the whiteboard is remarkably simple to use and offers numerous whiteboard exploring options.
AVITECH is number 1 in Romania in audio-video, video conferencing and smart houses and is the market leader in interactive whiteboards. The company provides more than performance equipment, integrated systems or state-of-the-art technologies. AVITECH offers complete solutions for classrooms, conference rooms and training rooms, for boardrooms, video conferencing, telemedicine and telepresence projects, digital signage networking, monitoring centres, command and control centres, ProAudio projects, and professional lighting.
