3D and Virtual Reality Laboratory for UNATC

AVITECH has provided the solution for the endowment of the 3D and virtual reality laboratory developed within the National University of Theatre and Film (UNATC) "I.L. Caragiale", solution containing both hardware and software components. Our company, thus, continues the series of successful projects that integrate virtual reality solutions, UNATC being the third recipient of the latest technological breakthroughs for the educational and formative process, after Transilvania University of Brasov and A.I. Cuza University of Iasi.

The 3D Laboratory is part of the project "Communication Skills. Performance in Education ', developed in Bucharest (U.N.A.T.C.), Cluj-Napoca and Iasi and co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectorial Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013.

The core of the solution offered by AVITECH is represented by a high-performance 3D virtual reality system, composed of hardware and cutting-edge technology software. The application includes a 3D display component and another one for creating interactive 3D applications. User interaction with the virtual space is possible due to a tracking, recording and 3D motion rendering software, which is integrated with the hardware component. 3D Lab allows the user’s immersion in the virtual space and the interaction with the 3D content.

Thus, there can be created realistic scenarios that reproduce the workspaces in the virtual environment, offering the possibility to develop the skills and communication abilities of those seeking to overcome emotions inherent in a public speech.

Through the project "Communication skills. Performance in Education“, teachers from the pre-university education will benefit from free training. The objectives pursued aim at using interactive methods in the educational process and learning the techniques for dealing with key situations by using specific applications for simulating real situations.

The National University of Theatre and Film "I.L.Caragiale" is the only state institution for the two specialties - theater and film, with legal personality, which operates under the law of education in Romania. One of the first theater faculties in Bucharest was starting its activity in 1834. Between 1990 and 1998, the school dedicated to film and theater domains in Romania, at a university level and international acknowledgement, was the Theatre and Film Academy. Starting with 1998, it became the University of Theatre and Film "IL Caragiale", and in 2001, the National University of Theatre and Film "IL Caragiale".
